Alaska Salt Company Sea Salt Margaritas

This looks like a lot of ingredients, but it’s really quite easy and well worth it.  We Promise!  Just make a simple syrup, add it to the Basic Margarita Mix. Rim. Shake. Cheers!

BASIC MARGARITA MIX

Yields 2 cocktails, use basic math to make more

2 oz Fresh Lime Juice

2 oz Silver Tequila

1 oz Orange Liqueur - we used Cointreau, but Triple Sec or Grand Marnier works too

Lime Wedges for rimming glasses and garnishing

Alaska Pure Sea Salt for rimming

RHUBARB MARGARITA

INGREDIENTS FOR RHUBARB SIMPLE SYRUP:

3 cups Rhubarb chopped into 1” pieces, preferably fresh but frozen works too!

1 cup Water

1/2 cup Sugar - we used 1/2 cup Agave Syrup today,  either will work!

DIRECTIONS:

  • Combine chopped Rhubarb, Sugar (or Agave syrup) and water into a small sauce pan over medium to high heat

  • Bring to a boil, then reduce to medium - low heat, simmer for 15-20 minutes

  • Remove from heat and let cool

  • Once cooled, press Rhubarb pulp mixture through a fine mesh sieve, producing a pretty bright pink syrup

  • Refrigerate until you’re ready to make your cocktail - we like to reserve our Rhubarb pulp for a tangy sweet jam to spread on toast, stir into oatmeal, or top ice cream!

RHUBARB MARGARITA:

  • Run a lime wedge around rim of 2 rocks glasses and dip into Alaska Pure Lemon Lime Sea Salt - Wild Blueberry, Original or Spruce Tip work well too!

  • Add 2 oz Rhubarb Simple Syrup to the Basic Margarita Mix

  • Add Mix to an ice filled cocktail shaker, shake shake shake until thoroughly chilled

  • Strain into salt rimmed glasses garnish with Lemon or Lime rounds

  • Clink and Drink!
